Friday afternoon/evening I worked on my January UFO and finished the quilt top. You probably remember my "House" quilt top. I saw this pieced border on a quilt in a quilt shop and loved it. So I somewhat recreated it. I know the corners are a little different but overall it's pretty close.
Then Saturday morning I got up early and drove to Seguin Texas for a Statler Stitcher business meeting. I don't like taking time away from a retreat but somehow I missed every single meeting last year and was determined that I was going to do better in 2013. I'm really glad I went. I always learn something and come home inspired.
Back to the retreat.... Saturday afternoon/evening I worked on a new quilt/bedspread for my little Princess in Japan. This is the picture her momma sent for inspiration.
And this is my version of the inspiration. I used an old fat quarter bundle that her momma picked out several years ago that I had on hand.
I also made her a pillow. This is going to be a bolster type pillow.
And a pillowcase to match the quilt top.
Sunday I left a little early as my quilty buddy Jan, who rode down with me, was quite a bit under the weather and needed to get home to her own bed. Poor Jan, she didn't have much fun on the retreat this time. When I got home I finished this block for the Quilted Angels Online Quilt Club. The December block theme was "Angels We Have Heard On High". I just happen to have a border fabric that had this angel in it.
On Tuesday I learned that Jan, Donna, Linda, Priscill, Sheila, and Angela were all sick with the "crud". That's 6 out of the 8 that went to the retreat! Somehow Vicki and I have dodged the flue bullet! And William came home from school Monday morning and I took him to the doctor Tuesday afternoon also. No flu for any of the them, just the "crud". I sure hope they don't share that with me!
Good luck dodging the crud, you and Kyle must have the gift. Because Rals and I got it good. However, I am happy to say that if you wanna lose 5 lbs it's the way to go! Haha, Jk! Your house quilt looks beautiful, love the border.
